3 ways to deal with change!

I cannot believe I didn't post these pictures I took in Central Park during fall, they are stunning! But you know what fall is associated with? Change, the much dreaded change. And let me tell you, if someone knows bout change its me and if someone knows how hard change is, its me and how to hate change its me, but I'm converted now. I like change, ok that was too much of a statement. But I enjoy change, I try to live with it and I do have my little secrets that I would love to share with you!

  1. Do not fight change. Easier said than done I know! But the more you try to fight it the more it will take you to accept it. A good way to not fight change is to think what could go wrong? everything? ok, so let everything go wrong. At my short 24 years I've discovered that when everything "goes wrong" I am still alive and if I think about it a month later it wasn't that bad after all.
  2.  Have a routine. This one applies a 100% if you are moving to another city or country. Establishing different routines work for your mind like you know where to go and what to do, you have something to look forward to! One of my routines when I first got to New York was go to my favorite neighborhood and walk around, then go to a Starbucks (routine people)  and order a coffee. Then when I moved apartments my routine was going to get sushi at a place on 66st and then go to Central Park, to come back to a Starbucks (I know!) for my daily dose of caffeine (At the time!)
  3. Search for support. And if you are any like me, I'm not saying people, al though if you have people that can act as a support system, good for you! But for me support sometimes was writing on my blog, going through old pictures and lately has been reading. Yes in some sort of way is a form of escaping reality but at the end of the day we all need a escape from crazy people or world, but HEY just a little!

Going out tops x TOBI

Summer is coming or well at least that's what I'm hoping for! Lately has been so cold in NYC!
So TOBI contacted me and they showed me the awesome stuff they've got in their website, which to my surprise I wasn't aware, so now I am happy or maybe sad because I know I will be buying more clothes! haha as if I need more... I really do.
So they kindly send me some tops to show you, which I have to say I have a few fave ones.

First of all, this blue crop top is #Goals, I don't know in what sense, but it is dreamy! The second I saw it I was like 'I need to get this' I instantly imagined myself in the streets on my way to Marquee! It is perfect for a night out and the fabric is a nice semi sheer velvet and the color? Don't get me started the blue is perfect, is kind of a mix between navy and cobalt blue which makes it perfect. I paired it with a black high waisted denim skirt. You can of course pair it with high waisted jeans but I would recommend only black ones because the blue denim might clash a little bit. I decided to pair both with a fuchsia lipstick by Givenchy that for some reason looks more towards a red kind of color, but either way I think it gives it a nice pop to the whole outfit.

Now for the other top. Let's have a second to admire all the black I wear every day. And this top wouldn't be an exception! It is an off the shoulder crop which goes perfect with high waisted palazzo pants (Which Im still on the hunt for the perfect pair!) The top has cool details on the sleeves making them the cool factor.
I cannot wait for the weather to get warmer and take these tops for a stroll! Also stay tuned because I've got an off the shoulder dress from them that is amazing! But as I said, winter has to go now so I can rock it soon!

The new Decor

Since I moved to a new apartment I've been obsessed with decor. Literally obsessed. I have so much fun going to Decor stores, even antiques store (which I used to hate) and I want to bring home everything.
To be quite true and critic of myself I am not sure what kind of style I have when it comes to decorate. I've been through weird phases like the time I painted my bedroom wall yellow/orange-ish which looked cool and then I wanted to add some Bollywood style with fabrics hanging from the ceiling and walls, basically my room looked like a fucking gypsy tent, which was fun at the time and now that I remember that I wonder how did my mom allow that? I guess that is the beauty of experimenting.
Right now I would say I am way more into whites and clean lines! In my room I have this black dresser that drives me insane every time I look at it because I just want to paint it white. Also, I should post about my mini DIY nigh stand which turn out to be one of my most priced posesions now.

Number 1 tip.  Definitely all decorative objects should work also as storage, specially if you live in NYC!

Watercolor vibes

Lately I've been into exploring more of what I like and new things I want to try. Since I moved to NYC I always say that every time I get out of my comfort zone I have a good time and it gets boring when I don't.
That's why the other day I was thinking of going for watercolors so I could finally make my painting dreams a reality! I've always been super impatient and to be honest I just want to paint these beautiful sceneries in a split second but this time I am reminding myself to be patient and just take it slow, that's why some of my paintings are shit, but some like this abstract one are cool.

I also realized I go a lot for blue hues since it reminds me of the water, which funny enough, I was never a big fan of. But now I am eyeing some photos to hang on my room with cool waves and beaches. I hope this helps you to experiment more!

The MET

I cannot begin to tell you how bless I feel to live in a city that holds one of my favorite museums of all time. The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Ugh, it is seriously stunning and every time I have a chance I go there, maybe I see everything again and again, but really this museum is a must when visiting NYC. One of my favorites is the renaissance paintings aisle or salon, because it reminds me of the Louvre, which I definitely need to go back since when I went to Paris we literally saw the Mona Lisa and the Venus, so it is def a must when I go to Paris again this year.

But Renaissance painting is something that makes me wonder for hours. I don't know if it happens to you or not but every time I see a painting I stare at it thinking what they were thinking at that exact time, what was the artist listening, what were the "models" thinking, what was the context of the painting and what was going on in their surroundings.
To be honest I am not sure if I know how to read art or if  you are supposed to "read" it, but I love just seeing every little corner of the painting imagining or just paying attention to the strokes of the brush, the color combination and the whole story in just one piece of canvas.

I went to see the Michelangelo exhibit at the MET in November-ish and it was fabulous although I am not too much of a drawing person I rather like paintings but some sculptures really caught my attention like the one below.
I went back last Sunday to see what I love the most which was the renaissance paintings and also had the chance to eat my first ever giant pretzel and it didn't disappoint!

Volez, Voguez, Voyage LV

2 Months later and Im just posting about the Louis Vuitton Exhibition in NYC . I don't really know where to start, is not that I have wonderful writing skills but I'll do my best here.
The Exhibit was around WTC and it was a very cold evening when I went with my best friend, the moment we got out it was actually snowing! It was wonderful after everything we saw inside, the whole day felt like a movie.

The Exhibit in itself was about traveling, all the LV trunks and tags over the years and it gave us a look into what was Louis Vuitton when he first started this classic luxury brand. As you know I am a sucker for stationary so for me to see all the stamps and tags and little post cards was actually even better than the trunks itself. You could see they put thought into every single little detail.
I don't know if this happens to you or not, but every time I go to these things and they are about hundred years ago they make me a little melancholic, and sometimes I truly wish I was born in that era to have seen everything with my own eyes and experiment it all.

Overall the exhibition was very interesting, and with a fashion designer perspective I have to say, every detail in those rooms was strategically thought. Everything looked stunning and it was a pleasure to go.

Deadly combination

I've never been a fan of red. Never.  But when I saw this Tommy Hilfiger bag back in Chile I absolutely needed to get it, I did ask for a blue one but they didn't have it, so this baby girl went back home with me. As far as the shoes, I've always, always, wanted leopard booties but never seemed to find exactly what I was looking for, I wanted them to be like mohair or something similar but the strands not to be too long and overall it was a hustle to find the perfect pair. But I saw these booties on ASOS and I needed to get them, and yes I needed them.

D&G small leather goods

Dolce & Gabbana, those 2 little sweet words. One of my favorite designer brands not only because they are italian and we all should know by now that I have Italian heritage (everyone in my family is italian!) but because I love the baroque style they always have.

Up in the air

flying, airplanes, travel bloggers, nyc bloggers, travel tips

Now that I travel a lot more (oh please!) I don't really like planes. Thank God I haven't had a bad experience but it is never a GREAT experience, I mean, headaches, extreme freezing cold inside, a little very bump roads. But I do like the feeling of going somewhere, new or old, it doesn't matter, is going away for something different. And clouds do give me a sense of tranquility and that time stops for a second.

Car chronicles in Miami!

I believe this is gonna be my last post of my vacations in Miami back in September! This Miami trip was unbelievable, we had the best time of our lives and we enjoyed every second of it. Funny story, I have to share it! So we rented a car for the whole trip and one of the last days we decided to go on a little adventure (truly it was LITTLE) so we decided to go up North on the island to see what is there, little did we realize it was already sunset time so by the time we get there it was going to be dark. Surprise surprise, it started pouring rain like NEVER before, it was so rainy that we couldn't see anything, it was pitch black and we didn't know where we were, and no phone service, I swear it was a scary movie! I was the one driving and I do not see 100% so when you mix contact lenses, dark, rain and fear is not the best combination. Then we decided to turn right, OH LORD! there was a bridge and a highway!!!!!! We were so scared that I didn't know what to do and stopped the car (are you F kidding me that is even more dangerous) but before that i was going to make a U turn in a highway!!! and then we realized there was a block separating the lanes!!!! Soo we decided to stop to figure something because we felt like we were going to fall off that bridge/highway. Long story short we decided to keep going and suddenly found a place to do a -U turn... one of the things I will never forget, I was almost crying LOL!

What would it be a great Miami trip without a little splurge at Bal Harbour?
Truth is, I just bought a lipstick but I do love all the details luxury brands add to your purchase (well we are not paying $2 so you better do the full package right?). This time we decided to go on a little wonder around Bal Harbour, which sometimes I would say is not my favorite place to shop at because it is boiling hot 98% of the time and to be honest I hate going shopping when there is absolutely NO ONE at the mall, but don't get me wrong I don't like long lines! Anyways, I decided to go for a leopard dress, my cat eye sunglasses from Aldo (which broke 2 days ago) a comfortable look for a full shopping day ... as if not everyday is a full shopping day LOL.

#Miamilife

When I used to live in Chile I always thought I was more of a "mountain" girl but after visiting Miami I discovered the beach is definitely one of my other places. Lately I've discovered that my Tumblr is all about traveling and amazing beaches. This time? no different, Miami is home, is paradise, is my little place on earth! My #Miamilife consists of my all time Miami breakfast; granola, greek yoghurt and fresh strawberries. Trying new nails (I seriously always do it when I am there!) Some Godiva chocolate strawberries and Aventura Mall, as always! Al though since this time we rented a car we went more to the Promenade and Hollywood beach (more like JoAnn and Michaels I would say lol!) We even went to Sawgrass mall which I will never go ever again, I highly DON'T recommend it, it is seriously a waste of time and it is FAR.

The Box

It was supposed to be a blizzard, Stella they named it. Oh gosh, Stella you have been very boring to say the least. I was expecting to wake up with snow all over, truth is, it happened but now is just snow and sleet and is far from being fun. That's why I am taking full advantage of being at home and actually going through my pictures when my mom came to visit me in NYC and when we went to Miami (so expect those pictures soon!). Actually these pics were taken after our trip because I remember I bought this bag, which I am in love with!, at TJ Maxx. I love this bag it feels luxurious because of the "leather", the chain strap and the box shape. I love how versatile is with the black and white and it adds a little something to my all black outfits!

Cash outfit

By "Cash" I don't mean money. Al though would be nice. But it is regarding casual style, which to be honest is one of my absolute favorites. Easy to throw on, to walk in and to feel comfortable with, because lately I've discovered that there's nothing better than feeling great in your outfit to portrait the image you want! It actually gets a lot of looks from people in the streets!
Cool thing about this? it has a million trends going on, the frayed denim which is one of my favorites that I have to yet try on, retro sunglasses (major 90´s throwback), white heeled"sneakers"and one of my favorites, ruffles.
Al though this outfit has nothing to do with the weather here in NYC, we are expecting a "Snow storm" tomorrow and today was a warm-ish day... can you believe how bipolar is the weather lately? Just like people...

In with the old, out with the new?

I don't know what's been happening lately- Maybe it is I'm really growing up or is it that I'm more of an adult, not because of my age but because I am doing normal-adult like things. And today I got to realize just that. I've been so into the 2000's music it's ridiculous, I've been reading old blogs, I've been craving retro stuff and I think I'm going through a phase... a kind of, goth phase. Mom and dad don't worry, don't be scared I am not going to do crazy eyeliner make up, blood on my face or apply a foundation in white. Is just... I am going back to all the things I used to love when I was a kid.

Didn't I tell you? I used to be obsessed with black clothes and gothic people when I was 10 years old, I still remember my cousin (aka sister) gave me some black clothes from one of her friends that was a goth, I cannot tell you how excited I was when I got those 3 black shirts. I don't know if they were age aproppriate but my mom was fine with dressing her 10 year old daughter in black, lace and sheer clothes, oh gosh.
That's one of the things I love of my childhood and how my parents raised me. Despite having permission to do everything I wanted to,  I was never a crazy kid, hence why mom would find it cool to be dressed in sheer black clothes  I remember my cousin even painted my nails black, which, fun fact, it was the first color I painted my nails with... I have never forgot that, black is such a part of my life and will always be and I always go to black nail polish whenever I´m in doubt, because again, it drives my to my past.
To that past when I was obsessed with being a goth and now reminds me of my present which I am loving black clothes lately (seriously I am not wearing any color lately) and I like to be that way because I also feel I am mourning the loss of one of the most important people in my life. Which takes me now how an adult I am despite being only 23 years.

I don't know if it is because I pay for my stuff, I buy what I want, I cook for myself (yeah I wish, restaurants are my 24/7 spot), I pay my credit cards and I have a bank account, yup, checking and savings. I feel so old yet so young. I the more I'm older ( or I feel like Im getting older) the more I and everyone else craves the past. Because everything was "so easy" back then, but reality is, it wasn't easy, it is a phase we all went through and we are onto newer things. And there's nothing wrong with crave some retro fashion or decor but I find it funny how we want newer things, more modern yet we see ourself pinning old bathtubs, high waisted pants, military coats... that shows us that everything is a cycle and that maybe in 15 or 20 more years we will crave the "modern" things we have now.

Soft pink

Don't ask me why but I am currently obsessed with soft pink hues and the fact that I am in the middle of winter (extremely cold, al though I got used to it now!) makes it a perfect obsession. I am still in the look for THE* perfect pink coat and as soon as I find it, I will definitely include it here!

A great way to start 2017.

Oh Miami. The city of my dreams, my paradise on earth and the main reason why I fell in love with the US. It was awesome to spend the holidays with the fam and friends, nice summer break (for this summer baby, because today is my birthday AND I was born in the summer in Chile, so.... winter is definitely not my thang).
I decided to give myself a little treat and what better way to start the year and the birthday weekend with a quick trip to the city I love... Miami Beach!

The excuses

I cannot believe it's been like 2 months and I haven't post anything. And I could go on with excuses like always or just simply admit I don't have the time or the drive to keep a blog alive anymore. This is not a goodbye and is definitely not the end of The Style Stash. I just have so many crazy amazing ideas and I don't know how to turn them into reality. Anyways I will keep posting hoping someone will keep reading. If you want to see what I am up to go to my tumblr and instagram
Peace and love always,

Big lips? Lip plumper

sexy mother pucker lip plumper

In my defense and you all can ask my mom. I've always loved this made up big lips, Angelina Jolie type and those like you know they've been done. Luckily I do have nice sized lips and pretty ones, I like them to be honest. But sometimes I daydream of having this huge made up lips like Kylie Jenner does. Honestly I would do it, but what if something goes wrong and I loose my nice lips and then I don't have the lips I want? Thanks to that I stumble across this lip plumper by soap and glory. And here is what I have to tell you.
