Score on me

I don't know from where or whom I got this thing for books. I've read so much over the last few months that I set a goal to myself to read 100 books by the end of this year and so far I am about to reach it or sort of! It is insane how much I've read and all the stories I now have in my head and sometimes it does make me feel like I am wasting my time since most of the books I read are just stories (of course I read some "educational" books as well) but if I start thinking about it really, it gives me a lot of vocabulary and different fun facts that sometimes can be things you should know!

Thanks to the books now I have a bucket list of places I want to go to, for some reason I tend to associate the characters with the places so now every time I see The Maldives for example I remember the characters of that book. To be honest, reading is so much more fun than watching a movie, it makes your head work but in a cool way, in a way of just imagining and creating whatever you want based on a book. I tend to imagine the characters and practically play the movie in my head and sometimes I catch myself smiling or even screaming while reading this awesome stories.
So I will try to do a weekly thing or monthly to share the books that I've liked so far!

Today is "Score on Me by Melody Heck Gatto" I just finished this book a couple of days ago and  is about a girl that is not confident with her figure and falls in love with a famous hockey player, yeah granted you know the ending but I like the moral of the story, that taught me to not be so hard on myself and you don't have to have the perfect body. That's what these books are about, sometimes they are not educational per se, but they help you understand certain circumstances or they help you in your day to day. I would highly recommend this book for everyone in search of a love story and good message on body confidence, also it is great because is very light to read and you will finish it in no time!

The perfect leopard coat.

It has been forever since I wanted to own a leopard faux fur coat that didn't look tacky, that made me look like that mischievous french that smokes in PE class behind a tree! And I have to say I finally found it! I bought it last year on ASOS and they for sure have the best options on the market! It gives me that Je ne sais quoi I was aiming for and it actually looks like it might be real but no animal was harmed in the process.

I love to dress it up or down, it is so versatile! It works absolutely perfect with a pair of adidas sneakers or with an all black outfit ready to hit the town! (specially in NYC!) And I have to say it definitely keeps you warm! It has that très chic factor I love and it gives me the comfort I always wish I had, because honestly not even sneakers are comfortable for me, I guess I was meant to be Cinderella, if that makes any sense.
Anyways below you can find similar options. Oh, and little snaps from my new work neighborhood... who would have thought I was going to end up working near my favorite building in the city.

Editorial love

Editorial is one of my biggest loves when it comes to fashion shoots, their pictures are somehow mysterious and obvious, it is a paradox in itself and I love how versatile models and photographers can be in just one shoot.

3 Work wear tips for summer!

Now that I am working at a proper office my daily outfits have changed, from being a sales specialist at Victoria's Secret and wearing jeggings and a sweater or shirt all black now has come the challenge of dressing office appropriate with a comfy touch and let's be real, a personal statement as well. In Chile work wear is disgusting to say the least, the most boring clothes and everyone seems like they are wearing a uniform bought at a very disgusting thrift shop from the 50's so I was having that mentality of 'How can I dress better and not copy that hideous style'.

The New York girl

You drive me crazy, sometimes I just want to hit you in the face, I get tired of hearing your name, I get jealous when people see you, I get excited for another day with you. Every time I walk I think about you, it is something so inevitable in my day to day routine, I feel you, breathe you and see you, all day. And I can't get bored of you, I need you in my life and to think I might loose you one day makes my heart pound. But you know what? I love you New York City, you have something magical, something indescribable, something everyone has to experiment one day. From winter to summer, to spring and fall, to different temperatures and color hues, you are truly one of a kind.

Your New York girl.

Out and about

Chelsea
I know, MIA for sure. But living in the city (for the 823778123 time) is hectic, stressful but fun and adventurous at the same time. There's no chance to sleep or rest or just take a little break in this crazy city, but really, why taking a break when I am so young? Why not experience it all, do everything so when I am old enough I can sit back and relax and rest all the time I couldn't when I was young!

Manhattan at night

Bryant Park

I honestly could not feel safer at night in this city, is crazy! I can't believe at 2 am the subway is packed with people almost with no room to sit down. That's why going out at night makes it so easier, cause you are definitely not gonna see yourself in a dark street by yourself, this truly is a city that never sleeps.

A litle wander

So the other day I took advantage of the sun and went on a little wander around the city, which little is definitely not the right word to use because I walked a ton all over downtown manhattan. I ended my day at the Flat iron district, which is one of my favorite neighborhoods in the entire city.

A cold welcome

Chelsea
Hello from New York City! The city that never sleeps, and that is true since I've been waking up at 7:30 am everyday ! (what!?!) Anyways, I am still getting used to the city taking in consideration it's been a while since I haven't been here and transitioning from a super hot summer to a very cold spring has been tough to say the least! I am getting ready to explore more of New York  ( you know, my regular areas, SoHo, Central Park, Chelsea, etc) so I can post more about this wonderful city! Enjoy these pics from a very cold day in NYC!

How to dress

I've come to the conclusion that I dress my best when I'm in NYC (still is so surreal to say "when I'm in NYC as if I am here on vacation, which I am!) And I honestly don't know the exact reason why this happens to me and my wardrobe (?). I wouldn't say is the pressure of looking your best there because in the US you have freedom of speech and that comes with a freedom on how to dress, but I think there's like a thought in the back of my head that I really need to step up my clothing game while I am there. Also a great way to just add that little something, is great shoes! and lately I've been buying too many boots!

5 ways to avoid the cold in NYC

NYC is extremely cold these days and having fashion shows is not helping right? I mean, New York fashion week is on its full swing and with these extremely cold temperatures you have to look fashionable but being warm at the same time! So I gather 5 little ways to avoid the cold in NYC!

Little Italy

Little Italy, it makes me think of my roots because if you don't know all of my family comes from Italy but surprise surprise, I don't love pasta, I mean I like it but it doesn't drive me crazy, Lasagna on the other hand... damn I love that. LOVE people! Anyways, back to the point of this awesome neighborhood which feels like you are in Italy at night, with cool lights all over the streets and every single man outside restaurant shouting buongiorno or buonanotte with the hopes you choose their tables to get food and enjoy a magical evening in what seems to be another country inside the city.

My beloved SoHo

I am exhausted if not bored of reminiscing so much about NYC but what can I say!? I love my city, I love the place I live in and I cannot be more excited about the future and present that I have right now. One of my beloved neighborhoods is definitely SoHo.

Thoughts on the last chapter

Okay, okay. December has officially arrived and that means the last chapter of the book of 2015. And with that is time to look back into the year that is going to an end. While I am listening to a song from Amelie (yup, the movie I haven't seen) is kinda depressing but exciting so I am going to put it like rather bittersweet.

NYC Landmarks

style usa

The Flat iron building must be one of my favorite building of all times, it has something in its architecture that is quite fashionable and it gives me the illusion of the old Europe vs the modern US. To be honest NY or the US in itself doesn't hold a lot of history, most of it is modern history or pop culture, but the streets of New York have something, that my grandmother used to say and love about it, the city that never sleeps and that's what I love about it!

Candids

When you wonder

SoHo must be one of my favorite places in NYC, because of how quite (some areas) are and also because of the very european vibe I get every time I go there. Since coming to NYC by myself, i've experienced so many things ( I think I already wrote about that millions of times) but getting out of your comfort zone is one of the best things you can do to discover new things.

Heat wave styles

Hey guys! I've been very busy, first of all because I found a job! (isn't that so cool?) Working in NYC, who knew! Anyways, for today I wanted to give you the option for this kind of heat wave at the moment, both in Europe and in NYC! It is a laid back style, chic, comfy and monochromatic, just how I like it! Remember you can twitch it the way you want because is all about being true to ourselves!

All black vibes

So I am studying Fashion Merchandising, and what I've hear a lot from professors at my school is that people don't dress as formal as they would do in Manhattan. I wonder why is that because for sure I love formal dressing and I started to see what people were wearing and they were absolutely right.

Experiences

It's been crazy few days in New York City and my love for it grows everyday, there is so much stuff to do here is insane, this city really never stops! I've been checking out some cool places and having some serious experiences. From Chinatown, to the Brooklyn bridge, to the Disney store in Times Square to dozens of museums. You can follow all of these adventures real time on my IG and Snapchat, both are @TheStyleStash! I hope you join in this adventure as well! (Sorry for my lack of posts, I've been having a ton of problems with photoshop, where I edit my photos so they can all have the same width and style! I will try to solve this in the next few days! )
